Sadness

Sadness

By: January

Discouraging heart

Never a true friend for me

None my living soul

Melancholy mind

Thinking of the few good times

Pushing away tears

Lonely longing soul

No rock, but a brittle twig

I hurt so quickly

Desiring for love

Needing to love in return

Friend-love, not fam’ly.

Hoping through the years

Wanting a friend and a path

A light for my way

I knock on many doors but find no shelter

Many ‘friends’ have come and gone,

There are few left, and one I feel already,

But their hand is just out of reach.
